Bishop Baraga Shrine

The hand-crafted Shrine of Bishop Baraga is proudly is located on the red rock cliffs overlooking Keweenaw Bay. This Shrine is conveniently located three miles from the hotel. Local gifts and shopping available at the Baraga Lakeside Inn gift shop as well as at the Shrine's gift shop.

Historic Lighthouses & Sites

The Sandpoint Lighthouse is just minutes from the Lakeside with miles of walking trails in a nature park.

Mount Arvon is the highest point in Michigan, standing 1,979 feet above sea level. Mt. Arvon is located 12 miles East of L'Anse. If you enjoy hiking in the mountains then Mt. Arvon is definitely one to climb. However, in the winter and spring the road will be closed due to snow or mud, making it difficult for vehicles to get in and out.
